30/40Correct answers required
90 minutesTimed examination duration
Official examinations require an Academy account, enrollment in this level and, for Levels II and III, a pass in the previous level's examination. The practice assessment is separate from your official record.
Examination structure
40 multiple-choice questions covering this level’s core concepts.
A minimum of 30 correct answers (75%) is required to pass.
90-minute standard timing, 180-minute extended timing or an untimed accessibility option, selected before starting.
Your first answer is recorded before immediate correct/incorrect feedback and an explanation. Answers are graded automatically.
Interview preparation and formative practice results do not record an official pass.
Attempts and retakes
3 standard retakes are permitted after the initial attempt.
Students needing a fourth retake may request Quant Atlas guidance before an additional attempt is authorized. Attempt limits and authorization are checked against your account record before another official attempt can start.
Progression and eligibility
Open to Level II students, or with the complete program. Its examination requires a pass in the Level II examination.
Passing the Level III examination is necessary but not sufficient for final certification. The manually graded final project must also be passed. Read the project guidelines →

Calculus III & Further Quantitative Foundations
Develop multivariable and vector calculus, then connect optimization, numerical linear algebra, probability, stochastic calculus, and tail risk through worked steps and explained checks, closing with mental math for interviews.
A demanding descriptive-statistics lab on quantile shape, distribution distances, conditional diagnostics, empirical tail concentration, multivariate geometry, and defensible reporting.
Build numerical and ML research judgment with inspectable Python examples: stable systems, model families, time-aware evaluation, calibration, uncertainty, and deployment contracts.
